Hired to bring greater organization, direction und management to construction and maintenance projects to ensure on-time completion, within budget guidelines, while also meeting all quality standards and applicable building requirements and regulations. Responsibilities include directing all construction and maintenance projects, as well as overseeing all local, state and federal building code compliance and all required inspections of projects, buildings and equipment. Establish and manage a $9 million annual budget that includes materials and labor. Lead a team consisting of four direct reports and an average of 60 staff and inmate workers, in addition to onsite private contractors and vendors.

• Recognized for reversing pattern of uncompleted projects including cost overruns and failure to meet quality and safety standards. Have consistently implemented many new processes that have saved the Willow River and Moose Lake campuses tens of thousands of dollars each year.

Minnesota Department of Corrections, Moose Lake Campus 2010-2013 Executive Director of Industry

Recruited and hired to bring improved operations, technical oversight and professionalism to a commercial printing factory, a packaging factory and a garment factory, which together employed an average of 235 staff and inmate workers. Responsibilities included building relationships with customers, identifying and developing new business opportunities, and planning and managing a $5million+annual budget.

• Succeeded in securing a significant increase in contract work for the department's three factories including contracts with out-of-state customers. Efforts resulted in generating sufficient additional work to justify bringing on an additional 65 staff and inmate workers over the course of employment period.

• Secured an additional $800K in funding as a result of winning a number of out-of-state contracts that enabled the department to charge a higher rate of compensation, which helped to significantly offset overhead costs.

• Played an essential role in leading the operational turnaround of the three factories; after two years in this position, the Moose Lake Campus went from being the least productive to the most productive corrections campus.

• Instrumental in enabling numerous offenders to complete or reduce their period of incarceration, pay restitution and child support, and to increase their job skills as a result of their involvement with these factories; many were later able to re-enter society successfully because of their experiences in learning new skills and how to hold and grow in a job.

Recruited and hired to develop the company's new northeast Minnesota market . Responsibilities included customer service, staff supervision, and assisting with advertising and promotions. Led a team of two office staff members in addition to overseeing bus drivers, bus stop and ticket sales locations.

• Developed relationships and partnerships with other transportation companies to better. serve traveling customers and package delivery service.
