College of Engineering. Manage all types of projects from a paint,
and carpet to complete Lab renovation A/C, ventilation, chemical
hood, cutting new door openings, electrical, plumbing etc. And
handle all phases from project scope, budget inspections estimates,
scheduling and coordinating all the way through to closeout of
project.
Responsibilities for over-sight, maintenance and renovation for Etcheverry Hall, a 202,000 square foot building, Project Manager for the College of Engineering. Space is assigned to nine instructional labs and fifty-five faculty research labs from Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. In addition, the building holds ten general assignment classrooms, nine computer labs, two machine shops, one larger student shop and several seminar and conference rooms. Safety Coordinator for Mechanical Engineering’s forty-eight labs which requires oversight of all safety aspects from the IIPP, BEP, chemical inventory, waste disposal, hazardous disposal, annual inspections. Coordinate quarterly safety meetings and inspect fume hoods on a quarterly basis. Oversight of accident investigations etc. Training on the Barrington Systems. Project manage all renovations, PPCS maintenance projects and CNS upgrades. Responsible for briefing department chairs and College of Engineering onall current building project

Perform and supervise mechanical work involving design, fabrication, assembly, modification and maintenance and repair of specialized equipment; troubleshoot problems in heat exchange, vibration, seals, alignment, axis orientation, electromechanical control, pressure, vacuum and stress. Manage department and shop with three or more maintenance mechanicians. Serve as liaison to the Office of Radiation Safety and Environmental Health and Safety Offices. Provide mechanical and welding support to the construction of the synchrotron storage ring project. Responsibilities include extensive tig welding in various applications, high tolerance machining, complete assembly of quadrupole and sextupole magnets from assembly to quality assurance. Assembly and testing of ultra-high vacuum equipment and systems. Also worked to set up and operate class 100 clean room. Supervise and train incoming employees and supervise machine shop.

Provide construction and mechanical support of Copper Vapor Laser Lab. Used mills, lathes, welding, and other types of machine shop equipment in support of the fabrication of prototype mirror mounts and brackets. Support the dye/electro optics group for the LIS program and participated in finding a solution to the laser optic instability problems inherent in LDF. Operate mass spectrometers as a member of the cryo-vac test crew. Perform mechanical support for dewar pumps, piping, and valves. Assist with equipment calibration and documentation.
