Preparing Environmental and social impact assessment, resettlement action plan, guidelines, and other environmental tools for use in the project based on relevant Environmental policies, acts and regulations/directives of the government of Ethiopia and relevant safeguard policies of the World Bankfor EEP projects. Overall support to environmental manager.

Performance of analysis and field-work required for the definition of the company impacts on the environment and environmental requirements coming from stakeholders and regulations.

Mentorship over environmentalist I and II and revision of their work to ensure qualitative output.

Prepare periodic report of the work unit.

Performs any other related duties assigned.

Review the contractor document and activity plan, design and costs to ensure environmental factors and mitigations are incorporated and sub components activity documents and social documents in harmony for EEP projects. Monitoring proper implementation of Environmental and Social safeguard performance and reported to my boss and the financer for EEP projects. Conduct and supervise periodic environmental monitoring during construction activities (Dumping areas, health and safety, discharge of untreated water, dust pollution etc, community safety program around electric power lines, plants, etc., Buffer zone management in hydro power projects and plants, reforestation, soil conservation, wild life restoration, activities, etc. Supervise restoration of construction areas to its natural state that was affected during construction period of EEP projects. Implement environmental related activities as outline in the ESMF, ESMP, and SMP of the EEP projects and prepare necessary document such as environmental guidelines, tools and checklist in consultation with stakeholders. Carry out site supervision in all stages (pre- construction, construction, decommission) and provide feedback to the contractors.

Facilitate and ensure compensation payment for material damage in the implementation of the project specifically the reservoir Area. Monitoring proper implementation during resettlement and post resettlement of the affected community.

Conduct and supervise buffer zone management in the project and plants

(reforestation, soil conservation and wild life restoration activity etc...) To delineate the buffer zone area.

To grow plants in nursery area and plant it around the buffer zone. To identify different indigenous and exotic trees in the reservoir area. And keep it their seeds before the reservoir areas clear.

To monitor the project area and regulate any impacts such as wild life, trees and others and put solutions.

To give training for the workers and the community about Environment and Social issues.

To grow different greenery plant in nursery site and mange nursery site activity also coordinate nursery site workers.

Planting different greenery plants in different areas of the city that are already grow in the nursery site and follow and manage them up to matured.
