Note that I made the decision to retire a couple of years ago, and “unwound” from my commitments at that time. I miss working and desire to again become active in new tasks and challenges.
It is difficult to summarize 50+years and all of my experiences with equipment, languages, and Employer environments and challenges. I have always strived to provide the best solution for the Employer’s problem, and have been considered expert in analyzing for that solution. I believe that the individuals tasked in using what I develop should be involved in design and testing of what is developed, and they are the best individuals to determine if the task is completed. All of this, of course, within the constraints of the project’s budget, and stated objectives. I believe that a solution should “live” and grow with its environment and I am willing to provide on-going support over time if directed by management.
While I know many modern languages and almost countless historical development languages for Companies, both domestic and military, my current capabilities are in the Microsoft Windows environment, with experiences with Server, Desktop, and Networked systems. I am comfortable working in extending Microsoft Office applications, especially in Access and Excel using Visual Basic for Applications, and using Visual Studio mostly using Visual Basic. I have used both to do database support
for applications running on-line. I support Windows myself on my systems, and could do similar tasks for an employer.
In my many years of developing and supporting systems, I am known to welcome challenging projects and have taken projects that many would not accept. I can work in an environment where I am an employee or as a contractor for particular projects. I can be “in house” or work remotely via telephone and the internet.
I have constantly learned current and new techniques over my many years of experience and have learned to apply the best technique for the current project. I look forward to developing new relationships and again providing my capabilities on behalf of those seeking my help.
