Job Profile
Lead the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of the OHS Management System which is aligned with the ISO 45001 Standards and international best practices.
Liaise with all departments to ensure Health and Safety Policies, Procedures, Regulations and all best practices are communicated to all employees and other interested parties.
Initiate and lead the development and implementation of behavioural Health and Safety systems within the entire mine to meet the ZERO HARM Goal.
Working along with Departmental Managers in the quarterly review of mine-wide baseline risk assessment as well as individual Health and Safety objectives and targets.
Organize and facilitate the Monthly Mass Safety Toolbox meeting for all personnel on the mine.
Administer all aspects of OHS Management System at sites, including monitoring & measuring of company’s OHS performance, incidents & emergencies management
Direct and coordinate strategic planning, organization and execution of the OHS Management System including resource allocation, client relations, risk mitigation strategies, site audits, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, government representation, workers compensation management, budgeting, forecasting, and subcontractor management.
Co-ordinate the activities of Health and Safety committee members and ensure regular meetings are held as scheduled
Ensure the timely preparation and review of the Monthly and Quaterly Statutory Returns for onward submission to the appropriate office for further actions.
