Key Responsibilities - Major Component and Equipment Maintenance
Direct, manage and ensure that major components on all mobile fleet are rebuilt in a productive and cost-effective manner to optimize mechanical plant availability and facilitate the delivery of Mining Services to the Client.
Assist with analysis and reports on the efficiency and effectiveness of the Components Rebuild Function as a whole, including but not limited to issues of timing, quality and cost.
The role also requires ensuring Quality Assurance (QA) on all rebuild components that comes out of the rebuild workshop and supervision of Safety of all workshop personnel as well as to train, develop, organize, lead, and monitor a team of people to deliver specialist components rebuild skills.
Liaise with Workshop / Maintenance Superintendents on equipment / components pre and post rebuild requirements.
Assisting the Maintenance Planner to improve the quality of FAR (Failure Analysis Report) and timeline to complete the FAR.
Ensure to complete detailed failure analysis reports on all components rebuilt and submit to the respective site Superintendent.
Liaising with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) on components / parts to be able to complete the rebuild process in a timely manner.
Assist with estimates and quotes on component rebuild to be carried out in the workshop where applicable.
Assess / Control all components rebuilding costs, including but not limited to Reman Core Returns, Service Exchange Program, PIP etc
Assist with Forecasts and Budgets on all recurring rebuilds on components such as wheel stations, diffs, cylinders etc.
Ensuring Contamination Control requirements are achieved / met.
Regularly assess and determine if upgrades are required and check with Superintendent if there have been any parts/ components upgrade that has come up through service letters of the manufacturers.
Supervise and monitor maintenance personnel and the work on equipment within the workshop to achieve the Company objectives.
Meet training needs and development requirement of workforce (technology)
Preparing maintenance schedules and supervise civil structures and the mechanical equipment for five nations of the nations irrigation schemes
Field surveys, preparation of irrigation designs and drawings, preparing bill of quantities and project tendering, pump installation for irrigation purpose
Supervise eight-month rehabilitation works at the Kpando Torkor irrigation construction of four room office block, warehouse, channel of 300m long with an average depth of 2m and 17m wide with concrete lining to take water from the lake installing of five pumps mounted on concrete pad and laying of pipes and sprinkler hydrants on a 50 hector farm land
Resident engineer on a 3-year project at the Volta region in the Hohoe District, The Koloe-Dayi irrigation project executed by Desicon Engineering Company Limited.
