As a Mental Health Technician at the Psychiatric Emergency Service, my daily work consists of- 1. Participate in early morning report to get briefed on all the clients currently present at the emergency holding.
2. Answer all the phone calls that comes to the facility and forward it to the appropriate person. 3. Gather information related to the presenting complaint, the demographic, financial and insurance information and obtain history from new clients to update their charts. 4. Keep all the client's chart up to date.
5. Monitor the client's and maintain a flow sheet of their activities. 6. Obtain and monitor client's vital signs.
7. Gather and place all the assessments and evaluations done by the medical staff and store them in the digital filing system before every client's discharge. 8. Put all the records of a client's total assessment starting from admission to discharged logged and updated appropriately in the digital database.
9. Help the client with assisting them go to the physician's office, to the nurse's office, assisting them with their meals and itemize their belongings.
10. Clean and sanitize the areas where the clients are held during their evaluation. 11. Prepare patient's packet by printing out all the necessary insurance, demographic, financial and medical information a patient needs to send them to any other inpatient facility and facilitate the transport by calling and arranging an ambulance service.
