Duties and Responsibilities
• Advise the project management on safety, Health and Environment aspects.
• Monitor statutory compliance by carrying out regular inspection and auditing the work.
• Undertake weekly inspection and prepare a quantitative report for submittal to Project manager.
• Report immediately to senior management any serious safety breaches that place workers in life threatening situations.
• Assist in undertaking risk assessments and identifying safe systems of work to be recorded in safe work method statements.
• Develop and deliver in training courses on Health, safety and Environment topics.
• Assist supervisors in delivering toolbox talks to the workers on the control measures identified in risk assessments and the safe system of work to be adhered to.
• Develop and deliver the worker Induction ensuring that all workers receive an induction prior to starting work.
• Develop and maintain a successful site implementation of HSE plan
• Participate in the weekly sub- contractors HSE meeting.
• Accident/ Incident investigations and preparing report.
• Bringing to the attention of staff and workers about occupational Health and safety Hazards associated with their work.
• Have the knowledge of documents required for entering the confined space.
• Inspection of Fire extinguishers and ensure that they are kept wear ever required.
• Advice site manager and supervisors in way to prevent injury to personnel, and damage to plant and equipment’s, prevent fire, way to improve existing work method and provide changes in the safety equipment’s.
• Performing equipment’s check regularly.
