Duties & Responsibilities

Review & advise Contractor / Sub Contractor Safety policy.

Be accountable for administering the contractor’s safety program on site.

Enforce the company’s safe work practices and procedures: Conduct daily informal safety inspections.

Conduct a minimal of one formal safety inspection, per month to detect and correct hazardous condition, safety violations and unsafe practice.

Continually identify hazards, assess the risk and implement acceptable controls.

Ensure workers have and are wearing the required personal protective clothing and equipment.

Inform workers with applicable occupational Health and Safety Act and regulation on site.

Ensure the proper tools, equipment and the materials are available and used in the manner for which they were designed.

Cease all activities in the area of an identified health and safety problem until it is resolved.

Immediately remove from site any employees of the contractor or sub-contractor who does not comply with safety requirements.

Ensure that the injured workers are attended promptly.

Investigate accidents, incidents & property damage, ensure oral & written reports and completed as specified.

Conduct toolbox talk.

Periodic inspection of fire extinguisher on site.

Conduct Safety induction for new worker/visitors.

Periodic inspection of plant equipment and lifting accessories.

Periodic inspection of welfare facilities.
