• Present employement October 21st 2015 to present date: Employed at Armed Forces Hospital, Kanb, Jubail. Position of Head nurse in the male medical/surgical ward. Care of medical surgical patients. Pre and Post operative care of patient’s, Liasing with the multidiscliplinary team eg Dr’s, dietician, health educator, respiratory therapist on the patient’s care. Doing of Doctors rounds. Checking that all doctors orders are carried out. Ensuring the relevant test results of the patient e.g. blood results, x-ray are in the patients file before the ward rounds. Liaising with other departments on the patients admission, discharge, follow up appointments and discharge medication. Ensuring all patients who are not eligible that the PSA department is informed.Monitoring of patients fluid balance, correct diet being ordered, ensuring that the correct treatments are given by double checking their orders.Monitoring CQI and PS activity in the unit for Registered Nurse and Nurse Aid e.g. IPSG, medication rounds, glucometer testing etc. Ensuring that possible infectious disease patients are isolated and appropriately, having their screenings done and liaising with infection control department on the notification. Ensuring all staff that are coming into the unit are doing strict handwashing, correct use of PPE. Education of staff with regards to daily inservices held. Reading of policies and procedures of the hospital so that to be compliant. Ensuring that the unit has a plan for JCI inservices and is followed through. Allocation of staff into different teams in the unit eg infection control, fire and safety, resuscitation, ERP, Pharmacy to ensure that all extra duties are carried out efficiently. Assignment of staff to patients. Dealing with patient complaints effectively and using the assistance of the Duty officer when in need and reporting the complaints to a higher level. Ensuring that the complaints are sorted out at my level. Handling of staff conflict and dealing with it appropriately. Issuing verbal counseling as directed by the Director of Nursing when staff contravenes hospital policy.

Checking of adequate stock is ordered for the unit eg CSSD, pharmacy .Ensuring that strict compliance with regards to narcotics, high alert medication, Lasa medication, fridge medication are complied to strictly and stored strictly. Ensuring that first in first out method is applied. Ensuring that no expired drugs or stock kept on ward. Auditing of ward files and feedback to staff. Auditing of other ward files monthly and feedback given to the supervisor as requested. Checking of emergency trolley 3monthly in departments assigned and giving the report to the supervisor to compile a detailed report.

Attending SNM meetings.Disseminating of the correct information to staff.Ensuring that incident reports are submitted timeously when incidents occur.writing of staff performance appraisal when it is due.Ensuring that all new staff are precepted well and monitoring of their workbooks and orientation manuals are being done. Assigning Saudi students to preceptors and daily checking their workbooks to see what is required and need to be signed off. From 2016 to present date. I am working in the nursing supervisors office as the Acting Nursing Supervisor and doing all of the Nursing Supervisor’s duties, and also been in charge of the male ward and doing both day and night supervision duties. Carrying of the supervisor’s bleep daily and handling queries related to the hospital eg nursing day to day staff rotation to units that are short staffed, incidents that occur I ensure that the incident report forwarded and attend the said unit that has complained as to intervene and report the matter higher if need be. Being present in the CODES and ensuring correct documentation thereof. Ensuring safe transfer of the patient to e.g., ICU. Attending RTA patient’s, code STROKE and Trauma codes. Ensuring adequate staff are called to assist. Liasing with other departments for keeping a bed available. Ensuring lab, xray are present and informing them adequately of test needed. Liasing with duty officer and security to control visitors.

Ensuring follow up of patients to other hospital eg KFMMC that the reports are received and ensuring staff available to transfer patient. Ensuring eg an icu patient with a ventilator that the respiratory therapist, is informed, biomed informed to check the ventilator and ensure adequate oxygen present for the trip. Co-ordinating with the staff to take the emergency drug box, food and ensuring that the ambulance request is signed by departmental head and duty officer. Supervision of the housekeepers as well.

Auditing of files in various units assigned. assessing staff in competency checklist to be signed off. Doing of staff reports. Conflict resolution. Issuing of verbal counseling as advised by the Director of Nursing.

I was overseeing the Male ward during all this time doing of Supervisors duties, Head nurse Duties and Preparations of the unit for JCI, CBAHI& CAP accreditation. Highlights: preparation of staff for JCI/ CBAHI. For the initial CBAHI, in 2016 visit I was the Supervisor on duty and accompanied the team around and obtaining the various documents needed. 2017 I was still in Supervisor’s office and doing of the Supervisor’s duties and prepared the Male ward to be ready for the accreditation. 2019 January I was on the day shift as Nursing Supervisor of the hospital when the Fire occurred in FCM. I worked together with the Hospital Director, Fire and Safety team, also coordinated the safety of patients, staff, in the lateral units that the Smoke was extending to. Further at the ER entrance was directing the patients to nearby hospital for care. There were no other senior nursing personnel who had come out. I recalled the night duty supervisor to come in early and assist. From July 2013 to September 2015. Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital. Nursing of critically ill patients and monitoring thereof. January 2012 to June 2013 :Working at Umhlanga Hospital. Promoted to the Resuscitation Officer of the hospital. Ensuring that quality standards with regards to the resuscitation programme was followed. Doing of simply CPR training for the staff. Plan of action and follow up for those staff not performing adequately. Formulating of unit policies and standing orders for the neurosurgery and neurology clinic. Working amicably with multicultural staff in an environment were different cultures, religious beliefs were eminent. included making of duty schedules daily for the staff.
