• Trained to float as needed to Neurosurgical ICU, MICU, COVID ICU Resource. All are fast-paced, 20-beds intensive care units.
• Neurosurgical ICU: Manage patients with strokes, status epilepticus, status post thrombectomy, tracheostomy, PEG tube, EVD placement, craniectomy, craniotomy, spinal fusions, fractures, among other surgical repairs. Manage end of life withdrawal of care.
• MICU: care of COVID patients, GI bleeds,
septic/hemorrhagic/cardiogenic/hypovolemic shock, liver failure, kidney disease and AKI, CRRT, patients with multi-organ systems complications and failure.
• COVID ICU Resource: Assist medical progressive care units by performing ICU resource duties, such as assisting nurses with emergent airway decompensation and management of oxygen delivery systems, preparing patients for intubation, directing cardiopulmonary resuscitation while a mid-level provider or an attending arrives at the scene.
• Perform ICU RN duties, including but not limited to, titration of vasoactive and sedative drips, administration of paralytic agents, train of four monitoring, management of arterial and central lines, telemetry interpretation, ventilator management, airway assessment and maintenance, BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, nonrebreather masks, vital signs monitoring, pain assessments and pain medication management. Assist in bedside procedures such as emergent intubations, tracheostomies, bronchoscopies, massive transfusions, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stroke protocol.
