Lugemwa Nicholas is a Results-driven electrical engineer armed with a graduate degree in electrical engineering and 4 years’ experience. I am Dedicated to improving efficiency, productivity, and profitability of organizations through the development and execution of innovative, cost-effective solutions and Adept at leading teams in the optimization of processes and procedures within the energy industry. I have also pursued a certificate in electronic repair from the Young Men’s Christian Association (Y.M.C.A) during my Senior Six (6) Vacation.
During my stay at the University I also undertook a course in Oil and Gas that earned me 2 certificates in this field. For the love of electronics, I run a Youth Electronics Workshop in Nansana, Wakiso District where we do electronic diagnosis and Repair of Domestic Electronic appliances plus offer trainings to fellow in this same field. Carrying out tests during and after manufacturing transformers. These tests include:
D.C resistance test to ensure continuity of the transformer coils both on high voltage and low voltage terminals.
Ratio test to ensure continuity between Low-Voltage (LV) and High-Voltage (HV) terminals Earth mega resistance to ensure that the transformer is well earthed so that the equipment and the public is well protected Load test in order to determine Short Circuit current on the HV side and also determine the power factor (PF) on this side
No load test in order to determine open circuit voltage on the LV side and also determines PF on LV.
Separate with stand Voltage Test in order to determine whether both HV and LV sides can with stand the rated voltage e.g. HV 33KV, LV 433V. it also ensures proper insulation of the transformer.
Oil test to ensure weather the oil will be suitable or not for the transformer. Perform any other Electrical works as instructed by my supervisor.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
Provide preliminary sketches or cost estimates for materials or services.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdown and correct the problem.
