Profile:
1)Over 29 years of cross cultural experience as an Associate
Professor (7 years), Nutritionist & Dietetic Consultant (20+
years) and 10+ years of experience as a Manager responsible
for Administration, Brand Promotion, Client Relationship
Management and inter-disciplinary Coordination in a
multinational company in Dubai and Bahrain.

Manager to create sales & marketing strategies and annual
marketing plans. Developed and improved the strategic

Bahrain and Dubai.
3) 2006 - 2009 & 2012 – 2015: Area Technical Head VLCC,

My recent teaching experience was at VLCC International in
Dubai and Bahrain for more than 5 years as an Area Technical
Head and for more than 10 years as a Senior Nutritionist. As a
part of my overall responsibilities, I provided training, coaching
and mentorship to a young team of dieticians and nutrition
professionals. This tenure provided me significant and diverse
practical experience and allowed me to study and analyses the
relationship between body composition, various hormonal
imbalances and the effect of food thereon.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
" My research areas, over the years, have been primarily
focused on:
A) Maternal Nutrition and pregnancy outcomes
AND
B) Obesity.
I have published the following papers in
publications of National institute of Nutrition (Nutrition
society of India), Indian Dietetic Association, International
congress of Nutrition and other university publications. Some
salient examples of my published articles are as follows:
A)Maternal Nutritional Status, age, pattern of gestational
weight gain and pregnancy outcome (studied 300 Omani
Women) in the Muscat Capital Governorate, Sultanate of
Oman;
B) Vitamin B-6 status of infants in relation to maternal
nutritional status (studied 150 women at Cooper Hospital,
Juhu, Mumbai);
C) A study of organization and management
of the dietary departments of Mumbai Hospitals (21 Hospitals
in Mumbai);
D) A comparative study of 50 obese and 50 nonobese
girls (15-21 years);
E) Socio-Economic and Socio-Cultural influences on women’s nutritional status;
F) Unitcost, cost-effectiveness, and financing of nutritional
intervention and of health and medical practices.

" 5) I have co-authored books published by the Maharashtra
State Board of Higher Secondary Education for the vocational
courses of crèche and preschool management
" During my extensive tenure at VLCC international as an Area
Technical Head, I was a part of the Training and R&D team of
their International Research Group. Some examples of study
and research papers I generated during my ten-year tenure
are:
A) Development of diets and new passive activities for
treatment of constipation (study sample of 150 constipated
subjects);
B) Compilation of yogic exercises and development
of specific diets for therapeutic purposes (study sample of 20
subjects for each condition);
C) Development of practical
guidelines for PCOD and Thyroid Diets (study sample of 300
subjects);
D) Development of Visual Guidelines for popular
Arabic popular food;
E) Co-relation between 9 servings of
protein in a day and weight loss (study sample of 50
vegetarian and 50 non-vegetarian subjects);
F) Developmentof Detox Diets and Detox Therapies for Detoxification purpose
(study sample of 50);
G) Study of Body Composition Analysis
and its relation with various hormonal imbalances and prediabetic
conditions (studied 300 BCA’s);
H) Weight loss data analysis of all the clients visiting centers and guidelines for Dieticians.
" I was employed with a company called Bin Mahmood
Holding as a Nutritional & Dietetics subject matter expert.
Under the auspices of this organization, I have presented
papers to the Bahrain Ministry of health entitled:
A)Nutritional values of Arabic recipes served in restaurants;
B)B) I have presented a paper on Bread production with reduced
salt content and have been accorded an approval from
Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug Administration to be
labeled as “Low Sodium Bread” for the “Delmon” branded
bread of the company;
C) An interesting project that I am currently working on is undertaken on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Bahrain. The project involves Nutritional
Screening of children from 45 Municipal Schools (35000
students) in Bahrain for which my organization provides midday
meals.
" I have participated in several radio shows, have written
articles in scientific journals (most of my work is on
pregnancy and pregnancy outcome) and given expert
comments in popular magazines.
