Worked in Neuro Surgery ICU in Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla from 19/06/2019. Which is a 9,00 bedded multi-specialty Hospital and Referral Centre. It is a famous for Cardiovascular, Thoraicic Surgeries, Neuro Surgery, Ortho Surgery and Coronary Care. Our ICU has a total capacity of 14 beds. The various super specialty wings include Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery, Gastro medicine and Surgery, Orthopaedics Trauma care, Nephrology, Gynaecology and Obstretics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology, Neuro medicine and Surgery, Oncology, Dialysis, Pain & Palliative unit, ENT, Psychiatry, Podiatry, General Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Telemedicine, Dental, Paediatrics and Pulmonology. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess, Plan and implement care based on patients need and evaluate nursing care rendered.

Prompt monitoring of critically ill patient.

Initiate C.P.R. during cardio pulmonary arrest.

Taking care of patient with ventilators.

Accurate documentation.

Perform IV Cannulation, IVF therapy and blood transfusion.

Independent nursing action include insertion of nasogastrictube, Foley’s catheter, blood sample collection, chest physiotherapy, dressing, etc.

Assist physician for procedures like endo tracheal intubation, tracheostomy tube insertion, bone marrow aspiration, Lumbar puncture, thoracentesis and abdominal tapping, CVP and arterial line insertion, Sengstaken tube insertion.

Provide health teaching and psychological support to the patients.

Preparation of reports and updating of records.

Receiving and handling over reports to the head nurse.

Settingsup, ICU, equipments, such as cardiac monitor, ventilator, defibrillator, ECG machine ready to use.
