I am a 30-year-old B. Com (University of Pretoria) graduate currently completing the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) final stage exams. I have extensive Revenue Accounting, Cost Accounting and General Accounting experience across a number of industries (education, construction, food and catering services). I am seeking a new challenge to grow myself professionally. At Rhodes Park School I developed Inter-Departmental Class Registers that were used to eliminate Ghost Pupils, identify which pupils were erroneously allocated to the wrong class/grade. As a result, this led to the optimization of Termly Admissions and in the long run an increase in revenues. These Class Registers (Made using MS Excel) are now extensively used by the schools within the RPS Group.

Resoundingly reduced the Bad Debts Written Off and subsequently increased the School’s Average Debt Recovery Rate from roughly 85% to over 98% per Term.

Designed an Invoicing Template (in MS Excel) that greatly reduced the time it takes to attend to customers by at least 80%, leading to Customer Satisfaction through reduced customer waiting times.

I currently own (with some partners) and run a “5 Star” restaurant (On Google Maps, Ulendo Eats and Facebook). My responsibilities include general management, public relations, costing, payroll, bookkeeping, quality control, marketing, stock procurement and supervising kitchen and till staff. The venture is performing well for a start-up, but I have decided that I want to return to a more corporate and sophisticated environment for my own growth and development. 2015 OCTOBER – 2020 DECEMBER

Rhodes Park School is one of the Largest Private Schools in Zambia. My responsibilities included: Debtors Control and Management, Preparing Revenue Forecasts, generating management reports, liaising with external debt collectors, checking work done by cashiers, Processing Supplier Payments, preparing scripts for calling exercises, Bank Reconciliations, Billing and Discounting for approximately 1800 active accounts, Resolving Customer Queries and complaints, Identifying and resolving bottlenecks, Approving Petty Cash payments. Accounting was done in Pastel Accounting, with reports in Microsoft Excel.

My responsibilities included: Cost analysis, billing control, posting daily transactions in Pastel, Data Management, Archiving, Participation in negotiations for some new contracts, Managing Petty Cash, Development of an Excel based accounting and reporting tool, Budget Monitoring. Reason for Leaving- Moving to Lusaka to take up a comparatively more complex assignment in my personal development journey.

ACCOMPLISMENTS

ACCOUNTANT, RHODES PARK SCHOOL

Received a Key Performance Indicator Bonus Award for the design of a robust receivables management system in 2017, after achieving a 99.99% Debt Recovery Rate. Participated in a project to migrate data from one accounting software to another with no disruptions in daily operations in 2018. And my efforts to keep the Debt Recovery Rate High during the pandemic were recognized and applauded by the Managing Director in a letter to Stakeholders in July 2020. MANAGER, FRATELLI’S DINER

I currently employ 4 people (creating jobs), in addition to a very well received product by the general public, I provided catering for the 2021 Namibian High Commission Independence Day celebrations.
