OBJECTIVE:

To obtain a Certified Medical Assistant position or similar in the Medical Field.

SKILLS:

I have 13 years of OB/Gyn experience. While in this position, I roomed patients, obtained all vitals and started the intake visit for the provider. I assisted with all office procedures, and when needed, performed venipuncture. Collected and sent out all specimens and cultures to the lab. Recorded and tracked results, scanned results when not interfaced. Gave injections when instructed. Input orders for provider signing. Cleaned and autoclaved all instruments according to protocol. Assisted with phone triage. Traveled to satellite offices to assist with staff coverage. Assisted with surgery scheduling during vacations.

Three months of Urology experience. Roomed patients obtained vitals and documented in the chart. Changed S/P tubes, changed or removed Foley Catheter’s, Venipuncture, bladder scans. Collected specimens and sent to the lab.

One year of Care Coordinating experience. Scheduled patients for further testing, or referrals to other specialty providers ordered by PCP. Also obtained prior authorization through patients’ insurance if needed for the procedure or test.

EXPERIENCE:

CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT/CARE COORDINATION – PRIMARY HEALTH NETWORK – JANUARY 2020 – DECEMBER 2020.

Organization was key to this position. Collect similar orders, schedule appointments, then document, notify the patient of details. Orders faxed office, and copy mailed to patient as a reminder.

This position was a temp to hire position. I worked three months; I didn’t care for the position. I found the Care coordination position.

Most days the provider saw 30 patients a day. Daily there were 4-6 providers in the office. Reviewing the schedule, the day prior helped with rooming the patient. Knowing that a pap or mammogram needed pended for the provider, gave the provider more time with the patient.

My major study was business. I also attended and graduated from Mayfield Vocational School, Mayfield, OH. I took two years of Clerk Typist I & II.

VOLUTEER EXPERIENCE/LEADERSHIP:

I hold my certification with American Association of Medical Assistants, expires September 30, 2022. Basic Life Support expires January 2022. I hold child clearances through the state of PA.

I am an active member in my chapter, Tri-County Chapter of Medical Assistants of North -Eastern Ohio. I presently hold the position of secretary. I have held every position in the chapter over the years.

During 2013, myself and another chapter member, co-hosted the state conference of OSSMA. We worked together to secure the site and accommodations, gather speakers for CEU’s for attending members, obtain vendors and set up for the House of Delegates. We reached out to MA students to assist the weekend of the conference.

From April 2019 – April 2021, I held the position of the Ohio State Society of Medical Assistants as state Treasurer. I have also been a delegate in the House of Delegates, and committee chair on the fund raising.
