PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

FRACMOD (AUGUST 2020-Present) Senior Reservoir Engineer, data analyst

• Designed and developed a full-scale Power BI reporting solution useful in data analysis, with multiple databases connections using only free applications and to have the opportunity to connect the project with all the team members;

• Collaborated in a team for data mining, analytics and analysis for oil and gas plays in unconventional reservoirs using large data bases that includes all wells from Alberta;

• Completed reservoir simulation studies in Montney, Cardium and Sparky where I have to propose methods to increase production by applying water injection (Sparky formation) or to explain through numerical simulation why the water injection can not be applied on Montney or Cardium formation.

CHINOOK CONSULTING (December 2018 – December 2019) Senior Reservoir Engineer, team member for SONATRACH/SCHLUMBERGER – ALGERIA

• Reviewed fluid properties, drive mechanism, analyzed BH pressure, well logs, DSTs, PVT data, cross sections and core results for two natural fractured and multi faulted oil reservoirs under gas injection, respectively water injection; the most interesting oil reservoirs from my career due to the unique drive mechanism;

• Responsible with reservoir simulation and history matching that will provide solutions to increase production by finding candidate wells for stimulation and workover;

• Proved the existence of natural fractures in the reservoirs and built a dual porosity/permeability model for each project; previous studies used only single porosity/permeability geological models;

• Used Prosper to analyze the pressure drop at the perforation level and to confirm the simulation results that indicate poor contribution from the lower interval in two production wells;

• Identified the key factors that have allowed the wells to have no water production for 50 years and the static reservoir pressure to be above the bubble point pressure;

• Proposed one well to be perforated in the upper interval, the oil rate increased from 250 bbls/d to 475 bbls/d; the increase in production confirmed the results provided by the simulation model; the interval was not initially perforated by the client because it was assumed a high gas saturation in that zone from the gas injection;

• Proposed 2 wells for frac operation; simulation model estimated an average initial rate of 1,500 bbls/d, the wells started to produce at ~1,630 bbls/d from an existing rate of ~900 bbls/d;

• Recommended to avoid any workover on wells with no pressure support from injection due to formation collapse; proposed instead 1 shut-in well to be converted into gas injection; the production increased with ~300 bbls/d for 4 wells;

• Collaborated with production engineers to identify opportunities for well performance enhancement and share the learnings across the team;

• Created a Field Development Plan for the El Gassi Project, highlighted the key decision points and estimated risk for scenarios;

• Demonstrated a high level of expertise in the meetings by presenting the results from the numerical simulation and recommendations regarding different development scenarios;

• Cooperative and interactive team player, act as mentor to junior team members in team and within asset.

FRACTURE MODELING INC. (March 2018 – November 2018) Senior Reservoir Engineer

• Developed a 3D IMEX reservoir simulation model for an oil field under a gas flood process to optimize the production and recovery factor. Proposed 4 new production wells and 1 extra well for gas injection, converted from production;

• Completed a reservoir simulation study in northern Iraq with the bottom pressure measured every 10 seconds for 1 year (over 30 million values) and based on the history match, it was recommended to increase the production without the risk of an increase in water production;

• Managed simulation study on a conventional reservoir used to investigate the impact of gas injection on oil recovery. Production forecasts were generated for a variety of production scenarios and uncertainties;

• Collaborated in a team for data mining, analytics and analysis for oil and gas plays in unconventional reservoirs using a large data base that covers around 40,000 wells from Alberta and BC;

• Developed a GOHFER simulation model for history matching and optimization of hydraulic fracturing for a pad with 5 wells in Montney formation, Alberta;

STRATEGIC OIL & GAS, CANADA (March 2009 – September 2017) Senior Reservoir Engineer

• Managed around 33 classical engineering projects on carbonate and sandstone reservoirs using numerical simulation and 3D modeling for various Canadian oil companies such as Husky Energy, Perpetual Energy, Harvest Operations, Crescent Point, Legacy Oil & Gas, Manitok Energy, Boulder Energy;

• Developed simple Petrel models for most of the simulation projects and work closely with G&G team to ensure good consistency in static reservoir model building;

• Responsible for reservoir engineering duties for the 80 wells in Marlowe area, carbonate reservoir, that includes reservoir simulation, reserves estimations, analyzing offset well performance and well reviews;

• Used Prosper to build well models for different inflow and outflow rates, pressure drop in the tubing and well completion design;

• Developed PVT tables for numerical simulation using PVTP from Petroleum Experts;

• Discovered through numerical simulation that hydraulic fractures in 3 horizontal wells penetrated the upper formation saturated with gas that created a natural gas lift through the wells and helped them to produce 2 years in natural flowing; the company drilled 2 more horizontal wells following the same completion, with no investments needed for an artificial lifting system;

• Used CMOST in many studies to create multiple realizations and to perform sensitivity analysis;

• Extensive experience in multi-stage fractured horizontals using numerical simulation for optimizing well spacing, number of frac ports, interference analysis between frac ports and horizontal well length;

• Successfully estimation in advance through numerical simulation of the initial production rate for the new multi frac HZ wells as well as for workover wells;

• Developed type curves for a representative production well into Muskeg area, an unconventional oil play using normalized production data or well groupings.

• Developed Excel macros with unique features to streamline well production evaluation and data analysis much faster than using other technics or software;

• Assisted in planning yearly production operations to realize the forecast developed for the budget cycles;

• Analyzed low perm reservoirs using RTA, PTA & simulation;

• Prepared presentations with reservoir description & characterization, production analysis & simulation for most of the projects.

• Strong communication skills with ability to effectively share information to mentor/develop others.
