Regulation of Renal Circulation Mentor: Adebowale Adebiyi, PHD Translational research studying the pathophysiology underlying sepsis induced Acute Kidney Injury

(AKI) in piglets, specifically the role of inflammasome NLRP3 and potential therapeutic inhibitor

• Experience handling piglets including intubation/tracheostomy, mechanical ventilation & cannulation of femoral vessels and cystostomy.

• Established model of sepsis induced AKI via Cecal ligation and perforation.

• Experience applying transonic flow probe to monitor renal blood flow, laser-doppler probe for cortical and medullary tissue perfusion, along with novel transdermal GFR Certifications & Licensure

• Morbidity and Mortality meeting: Life-threatening complications and death due to severe Sickle cell anemia.
