VN Program was suspended by the BVN-PT in 2019 prior to my accepting Director’s position and, after my securing four clinical placements,Program was allowed to continue 2/3/20

Provide leadership, guidance and strategic insights which have resulted in the current student population of 48 VN students to exceed the cumulative student population since the program was purchased from Anderson College in 2014.

Received two approvals from BVN-PT to add cohorts; since hire, one cohort of 8 students has grown to three separate cohorts; totaling 54 learners.

Expanded clinical sites from three to twelve facilities and hired new FT Nursing Faculty; also increased the number of adjunct faculty to meet the college’s exponential growth.

Developed a new FT evening and weekend program to meet the diverse scheduling needs of students.

Currently preparing for the November ‘19 BVN-PT approval for the PT evening and weekend Riverside VN program

Revamped VN curriculum to decrease hours, reflecting a refined curriculum; restricted the CNA Program by placing it under Nursing which involves supervision for Alhambra and Anaheim sites.

Additional contributions include the development of a pinning ceremony, introduction of an Alumni Council with quarterly meetings and the development of a new advisory council composed of five students per Cohort.

Taught clinical and theory courses and facilitate lectures for MA students where required.

Dean of ADN and Surgical Tech Programs

Hired five FT Nursing faculty, increased admissions and improved retention rates across the program.

Created a monthly breakfast meeting for 35+ adjunct faculty to improve engagement and communications between course coordinators and clinical faculty.

Instituted a number of additional improvements to include expansion of the SIM Mom to curriculum program, development of a National Honor Society for Nursing, and creation of a new lab coordinator position to guide and coach students in skill development.

Revamped the ADN Nursing Program with 108 students. Hired and coached four new F-T faculty members and initiated the Student Advisory Council.

Wrote an accepted Grant for $50,000 to develop standardized tests to increase the validity and reliability of the tests.

Taught Leadership and broadened clinicals to include 12-hr shifts and changed clinical sites for Community course to include the Tunnels and less in-patient experiences.

Began a chapter of Alpha Delta Nu; updated ACEN self-evaluation plan (re-visit 2018); changed processes for administering exams (all quizzes and exams needed to be reviewed by another faculty member and signed prior to administering; upgraded Admission standards; provided adjunct faculty breakfasts to encourage sharing of information; changed policy for each adjunct faculty to attend first theory class and to communicate weekly via e-mail re: a synopsis of that week’s clinicals.
