● Excellent Problem Solving Skills and Aptitude:

Performed linear regression to predict DM water pressure (required for water cooling in plant critical VSD) in order to predict the date of occurrence of ‘low pressure’ alarm.

■ Result: Date of alarm and reduction in water pressure predicted accurately. DM Water topped up before the occurrence of ‘low pressure’ alarm

Conducted a two day round the clock monitoring of 2.5 MVA Distribution Transformer Oil Levels to display and capture the variation of transformer conservator oil levels with respect to ambient temperature.

■ Result: Major inferences were drawn from the study to inform the scheduling & planning for oil top up/removal due to weather changes and to identify the optimum oil level for the distribution transformers. Utilizing the identified appropriate oil level reduced the need for manual intervention to maintain the oil at its optimum level.

Proactively suggested Continuous Online Partial Discharge Monitoring (during internship) as a method to verify cable healthiness, identify defects and predict residual cable life and fault occurrence.

■ Result: Various OLPD products were evaluated by the Central Engineering Department to determine their suitability for the site.
