Primary Maintenance Responsibilities:

Performs inspections, functional checks, and preventative maintenance on Industrial Plan Equipment (IPE) and Real Property Installed Equipment (RPIE), machines, components, and other production facilities to include periodic, phase, hourly, calendar, and special inspections such as fuel contamination, emergency equipment, and oil sampling. Performs major adjustments and alignments of systems or components. Diagnoses malfunctions using computerized test equipment (such as borescopes, fuel pressure gauges, air pressure gauges, alignment fixtures, analyzers, digital meters, and oscilloscopes), schematic diagrams, and technical publications to perform the appropriate repair according to the test results and analysis. Determines the extent of disassembly to repair, overhaul, replace and certify all components.

Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, guides, codes, work orders, and written or oral instructions in the installation, maintenance and repair of IPE/RPIE equipment and facilities. Maintains and repairs installed electrical systems such as lighting fixtures, power fixtures, and fire alarm systems. Independently installs, modifies repairs, and maintains utility, supply, disposal systems and equipment such as sewage, oil, gas distribution systems, and water closets, tubs, backflow prevention devices/assemblies, fire sprinkler systems, and showers. Troubleshoots/tests various plumbing systems and equipment and performs routine and unscheduled maintenance on heating systems, refrigeration, and air conditioning units.

Independently applies skilled methods, techniques, and advanced shop mathematics to construct, install, repair, and modify a wide variety of structures. Performs tasks of various skills that include electrical, mechanical and pipefitting repairs. Installs and assembles piping, fittings, and accessories/components to high and low pressure liquid lines, vacuum lines, heat exchangers, hydraulic lines, heating and cooling coils and other high/low pressures systems.

Provides data for maintenance historical records, completes maintenance data collection, man-hour accounting, and other forms as required. Assists engineering supply in identifying parts and stock numbers, and obtaining necessary parts and tools to perform assigned duties.

Observes work and ensures compliance with standard procedures and applicable technical publications. Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Machinery Maintenance Responsibilities:

Observes and performs inspections, functional checks, and preventative maintenance on a variety of industrial production machines. Witnesses Storage Retrieval Machines (SRM) while in operation. Inspects wire ropes, power collector trolley brushes, air filters, wheels, side-guide rollers and rails, lift carriage components, retractor components, and driver motors. Performs functional and operational checks on lift carriages, retractors, extraction bars, SRM controls and indicators, horizontal and vertical reducer, drive motors, side-shift gear motors, end-of-aisle buffering, maintenance pendant controls and indicators, e-chain circuit switches, sensors, infrared (IR) units, electrical discharge machines (EDM)s, and SRM lamps. Achieves functional checks on the retractor chains (for tension), lift carriage emergency brake, slack wire rope switch, mast cap guide roller and shave, operation of the torque-limit clutch, AC/DC control voltages, motor controller parameters, and SRM signage.

Validates wheel and mast vertical alignments, tightens terminal blocks, cleans bar code scanners and printed circuit boards, lubricates components, and performs resets (if needed) to Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) computer control systems. Validates completed maintenance through final checks, ensuring no loose bolts, missing parts, unintended noise and vibration.
