EXPERIENCE

Citigroup, New York, NY (via World Wide Technology)

October 2016- present

Senior Project Manager, Data Center Consolidation and Migration

Recruited by the Senior Vice President of Global Technology Infrastructure to reassert resources and timelines critical to the restack and technological transformation of the bank’s data centers located in the NYC headquarters. Tasked with turn-around of chronically delayed high visibility project to consolidate and migrate 120,000sf across three data centers and concurrently construct a new 80,000sf replacement to support 3,000+ trading desks, low latency trading, and a 33% increase in user base to 12,000.

As driving force for delivery of phase one 40,000sf data center replacement, took on 12-month project running 6 months behind schedule and reduced delay by 50% to three months.

Challenged with managing multiple stakeholders with competing interests, analyzed project scope, sequencing, timelines, staffing, and budget. Engaged executives and key stakeholders to gather input and collaborate on improved project execution.

Through broad and deep technological understanding negotiated with senior management across the bank to facilitate 1,500 server and network migrations critical to reducing the project’s duration, associated risks, disruptions and budget overages. Revamped phase one project plan to recoup 3 months of delay and similarly streamlined plans for phases two and three.

Negotiated an application based migration plan that carefully integrated with the bank’s multiple domestic and international “change freeze” schedules.

Instituted merger of Storage Area Network (SAN) fabrics to simplify server moves and expedite migrations.

Coordinated the 25-member project team through strong teamwork centered on improving timely communication, issue escalation and problem resolution, while setting high expectations for individual initiative and accountability. Monitored progress (ServiceNow) and checked in with team members and stakeholders regularly to identify continuous improvement opportunities, maintain momentum, offer support, and minimize project idle time.

Fortified decommissioning procedures with a hardware “end of life” program to coincide with the migration schedule, reducing downtime as future replacements are made.
