Senior Reservoir Engineer - Subsurface Department, Aug 2014 to Present

Lead all activities associated with company’s Reservoir Engineering process to locate reserves of oil and natural gas by utilising advanced equipment, such as computer modeling and imaging programmes.

Integrate technical-commercial work cycle by collaborating with both commercial and production teams.

Evaluate historical data and predict future reservoirs performance by designing simulation for three dynamic models of Lan Tay, Lan Do, Phong Lan Dai carbonate reservoirs in Block 06.1 offshore Vietnam.

Delay water breakthrough in three years and increase recovery factor up to 72% by conducting production optimisation research to identify optimal development scenarios for long term strategy. Support Block 06.1 operation and assure gas supply demand of market while obtaining highest recovery factor through surveillance planning and management for carbonate gas reservoirs.

Key Contributions:

Formulated field development plan with the focus on enhancing reservoir contact, well productivity, and ultimate recovery for Phong Lan Dai and Lan Do fields, block 06.1 offshore Vietnam project, gaining approval from Vietnam Government in year 2017.

Achieved approval from Vietnam Government in year 2016 by steering management of Reserves Assessment Report (RAR) project for new discovered field Phong Lan Dai.

Enabled the company to spot recognition award and thank you letter in September 2015 by spearheading New Lan Do dynamic model project based on new seismic data interpretation.

Designed five dynamic simulation models of clastic and granite basement reservoirs in Thang Long & Dong Do (TL&DD) Fields, Block 01-02/97 offshore Vietnam.

Devised PVT models and SCAL tables while generating tubing performance curves VFP for simulation input. Ensured company’s regulatory compliance by monitoring production performance for wells /fields and analysing decline curve for short term forecasting. Prepared and delivered production and progress reports to Petronas & Petrovietnam on monthly basis. Undertook reservoir engineering part of well proposal report in drilling campaign for 18 production and 4 injection wells of TL&DD project. Facilitated manager and other subsurface staffs to prepare various types of technical report (Workshop, TCM) and documents (MCM) to ensure achievement of bottom-line organisational goals.

Key Contributions:

Weighed previous and predict future reservoir performance to develop field development plan as well as reservoir management and depletion strategy for production optimisation.

Formulated and implemented the Production Data Management System (PDMS) for data capturing, processing, back allocating, and monitoring during production period of TL&DD project.

Facilitated the contractors in bidding process of a project worth US $578861.9., by planning entire system schematics, as well as writing technical specification requirement, and scope of work.

Administered and planned the implementation of reservoir rock and fluid samples analysis by subcontractors to ensure maximum recovery and optimum production.

Utilised MWD and LWD tools in drilling and measurement segment at Vung Tau base and fields.
