Conducted small group and individual classroom activities with students based on differentiated learning needs for 4-6 year olds with autism/severely handicapped. Also worked with 4 Headstart classrooms with fully included slots for 10 students, 4-5 year olds. Provided materials and activities to classrooms at age appropriate and classroom appropriate levels.

Conducted IEP meetings with joint staffs and parents. Kept records for goals and progress to write IEP's and classroom lesson plans.

Special Education CA Preschool Instruction Network was a collaborative effort by the Early Childhood agencies serving districts in the state. We provided inservices on a variety of topics to preschool teachers, exemplifying best practices and state mandated practices. We had a team of teachers: administrator, special education, and bilingual education.

We worked on several projects including producing a new second language acquisition book for preschool teachers. Provided workshops for handbook.

02/2001 to 06/2004 Special Education Teacher and Lead Home Visitor United Cerebral Palsy Hanford, CA

The Infant Program in Kings County put together a home visit component and extended their services into other natural environments, including parent/child preschools in a collaborative project with Kings County and First 5.

Trained and supported classroom teachers as they branched out into providing home visits while working on a multidisciplinary team. Students were served regardless of their disability in fully included situations: blind, deaf/blind, hard of hearing, CP, Down Syndrome, and various other congenital disabilities.

Besides providing ongoing assessment, IFSP writing, and other report writing, made referrals to other county agencies.

Was vendorized to provide Early Intervention Services to families in their homes who didn't speak English well and were rural. This was to fill a gap in services by larger infant programs.
