As a production operator sometimes working as a machine operator the job itself usually involves some aspect of the manufacturing process. As a production operator I maintain the machinery necessary to perform a specialized task. . RESPONSIBILITES AND DAILY DUTIES
1. HOUSEKEEPING
. Ensure that 5 s is being implemented and maintained. A place for everything and everything in its place. Ensure that areas are demarcated, and only specified equipment or raw materials are stored. Ensure that the internal maintenance is done on all doors, windows, toilets, eating facilities and change rooms. Ensure that the maintenance is done on the exterior of the building example fencing, lighting, gates, and roller doors.
2. PLANNING & PAPERWORK
. A daily and weekly plan is available for all departments. Daily production meetings are held to track figures as per the production plan and also problems that may have come up. Ensure that the plan is being followed and in the specified time. Ensure that the head count is correct for the different production areas. Ensure control of paperwork and ensure that all products are quality checked before despatching. Ensure that all procedures are being followed.
3. STOCK CONTROL
. Responsible for stock control, ensure that all bins are labelled with product identification, serial numbers and that the correct items are in each bin. Also ensure that the first in first out procedure is being followed. All reject products to have a specific holding area and a decision to be made if it has to be reworked, rejected or replaced.
4. TRAINING AND STAFF MANAGEMENT
. Ensure that all KPIs are being met and all work instructions are being adhered to. Conduct staff training and ensure staffs are aware of the right quality requirements.
5. SERVICE DELIVERY
. Ensure that the customer requirements are being met and timeously deliveries to customers are done. Ensure that all orders are correctly despatched. Reporting and recording of all customer complaints.
