Working as an admissions Counselor in a mental health hospital, I am the first face a patient sees. I admit patients into our hospital and comfort them in this temporary life change. Many of these individuals come into our facility distressed or upset. Redirection is a strong element to display during these times. As an admissions Counselor I also participate in staff assists on the unit. These include helping to redirect a patient who becomes agitated or upset.
