SUMMARY:

Motivated, quick learner - I love working with numbers, finances, and solving problems. I can work alone but also have much experience as a team player. I am proficient in some financial areas, customer service, computer, and some small business applications. I believe my relative work experience as a small business owner, Certified bookkeeper, and POA are an asset to any company that would give me a chance.

EXPERIENCE:

October 2020 – Present Certified bookkeeper/QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor for my own small business Simply Smart Cloud Bookkeeping, LLC. This is very part time.

July 15, 2014 – December, 2020 Caregiver to my elderly mother and father. I also have been their financial Durable POA for the past seven years so have handled aspects of their finances that have given me some experience with Social Security, pensions, life insurance policies, IRA’s, bonds, Certificates, etc. During this period, I did continued education in becoming a Certified bookkeeper and QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor.

February 2007 – July 15, 2014 Customer Service Rep, West Corporation.

Annual Salary - Started at $21,000/year receiving raises each year and sales commissions. For the last few years was making around $24,000/year.

My 40- hour work week included working for Dish Network the first four years as a customer service representative that handled delinquent billing. Duties included answering the phone; handling billing and account information on their company computer; taking credit card, debit card, and eft payments over the phone; and taking supervisor calls part time as needed. For the remaining three years I worked for Alltel Cellular before

AT&T bought them out. I performed the same type duties for Alltel that I did for Dish Network on the computer and over the phone.

July 1984 - February 2014 Receptionist/Secretary/Bookkeeper, Phil’s Quality Tile and Carpet and my sole proprietorship cleaning business, Special Touch Services

Duties included scheduling appointments with customers; filing customers’ information which included job details, billing and payment paperwork, and supply and expense bills and receipts. I also did and still do our sole-proprietorship taxes each year.

My duties included filling out tax forms using a memory typewriter; taking instructions from the heads of office; typing out memos, letters, and other documents by listening to pre-recorded instructions on a hand-held tape player with headphones or handwritten copy from the supervisors; and filing paperwork. This was a temporary position during tax season.

Duties included answering the phone; scheduling clients; and typing out legal documents, letters, and memos on a word processing typewriter that I taught myself how to use there. The position was part of my high school senior year business education (Cooperative Office Education) class like a paid internship. I went to school in the morning and to work in the afternoon.

SKILLS:

I have intermediate experience using computers. I can use Word, Microsoft Excel, do data entry, bookkeeping on QuickBooks Online, process online payments, etc. Since I have many years of experience working on computers and also some on a business level, I know I have the skill and fortitude to learn any additional computer or software skills necessary.

EDUCATION:

Warren G. Harding High School, diploma 1983

I had two years of business class in my Junior and Senior years which

specialized in secretarial and business applications. I made Cooperative Office Education class for my Senior year, which required certain grade

Achievements during my Junior year. I also studied tax preparation through Ashworth College over ten years ago and have been doing our business taxes since then and am currently taking a refresher tax course through Liberty Tax. In addition, I took a bookkeeping course through Ashworth College online ending with a grade point average of 97% and made their Honor Roll. After that, I took a bookkeeping course online through Bookkeeper Business Launch to learn more up-to-date bookkeeping areas of technology, marketing, and business. Along with this I took training with Intuit QuickBooks and got certified as a QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor. I have a very small bookkeeping business currently, and am looking for more

employment.
