Job Designation: Senior Manager, Technical Operations (EPICOM Projects)

Job Locations:Lagos, Portharcourt, Warri, and Eket

The role oversees the planning, organization, execution, and monitoring of various projects in line with agreed service expectations and propositions. The role is responsible for executing complex and routine Projects, Engineering, Procurement, and Costruction

Project (EPICOM) Involvements:

- SPDC: Agbada NAG Project, currently in Commissioning Phase

- EROTON: Alakiri NAG Project, on hold due to Client’s Management discretion

- NPDC: Egbema AG and NAG Project, on going

- NPDC: UUU AG Project, on going

Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the articulation of the overall business strategy and plan as well as the translation of these plans into function implications.

• Take ownership for the development of plans, programs, and initiatives to be executed by the projects team in line with the overall business strategy and agenda.

• Communicate the business and functional plans to team members ensuring proper understanding of implications and expectations across board.

• Work closely with the BD, and Commercial team to identify, respond to and negotiate opportunities. Provide critical inputs in the contract development stages.

• Ensure proper translation of awarded contracts/agreements into detailed work plans and packages. Oversee the assignment of responsibilities, the establishment and mobilization of the project team

• Oversee the instatement of relevant project delivery protocols including the agreements of performance expectations and the monitoring of project performance on an on-going basis.

• Define project start-up priorities and instigate generation of lower-level plans and deliverable

• documents by the team.

• Ensure the institution and maintenance of effective Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards across projects, drive compliance through proactive monitoring, anticipation, and mitigation of safety risks.

• Work closely with various stakeholder groups ensuring proper engagement with a view to ensure sustained and mutually beneficial interactions.

• Manage key client relations and interfaces. Manage existing relations and, identify and onboard new strategic relationships.

• Oversee management of all project economics ensuring alignment with plan and project profitability objectives.

• Ensure adherence to agreed change control protocol and proper sign off on and documentation of variations prior to commitment.

• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to team, ensuring effective management of team dynamics and performance.

• Stay in tune with relevant trends, ensuring key opportunities and impact points are transmitted to appropriate parties in the business.

• Continually refine processes with a view to drive continuous improvement and value to the client and business.

• Work closely with HR to ensure concerted effort to develop critical discriminating competencies in the projects team.

• Serve as an advisory to the C.O.O on appropriate pricing of products and services, and when to dispose of products

• Tracking of Clients and Company’s profitability level, whilst ensuring resolution of supply chain management is maintained to strike a balance

• Manage the organisation’s operational risk procedure and exposure by supporting the Company Business to identify areas of recommendations and corrective action

• Oversee quality control throughout the company, establishing goals for each department in partners

• Lead on the Oil and Gas Strategy for Africa including market or customer opportunity studies as well as deploying resources appropriately

• Review the annual development of sales & marketing budget and plan in coordination with company budget and strategy

• Spend time targeting, developing and maintaining a favourable relationship with new and existing national accounts that are in alignment with personal and company goals and strategies

• Assist in identifying market potential, establishing pricing and market strategies by market research or study

• Identify and evaluate customer needs, develop customer relationships and implement sales strategies to progress customer relationships

• Responsible for annual development of sales & marketing budget and plan in coordination with company budget and strategy

• Spend the majority of the time targeting, developing and maintaining a favourable relationship with new and existing oil and gas accounts through sales and business development managers that are in alignment with Sector and company goals and strategies.

• Identify and evaluate customer needs, develop customer relationships and implement sales strategies to progress Oil and Gas customer relationships

• Design and implement marketing plan and sales programs which focus on external as well as internal “awareness” of targeted accounts, promote new markets and improve competitive position.

• Chair regular Progress Meetings

• Ensure compliance with ISO and PMO and strive for continual improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

• Ensure effective interface between the Management and all Teams; Finance, Commercial., Projects, etc

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Ensure delivery of a minimum of 90% of approved budget

• Achieve 35 days bill outstanding (DBO)

• Less than 5% budget variance on maintenance & other costs

• Ensure 95% execution of all contracts/projects within budget and timeline to the satisfaction of clients

• Obtain quarterly customer survey on projects – completed and ongoing

• Achieve 95% efficiency in operations - storage, warehousing & logistics, oilfield services, fabrication, etc.

• Achieve 95% utilization of infrastructure, assets (trucks, forklift, crane, etc.), and staff engagement

• Grow new business relationships and maintain existing relationships within selected markets by agreed percentages year –on-year

• Achieve 100% compliance with regulations and QHSSE requirements

• Achieve 100% quality of housekeeping based on agreed checklist

• Achieve 95% learning and development compliance for all employees based on established competency requirements

• Consistent delivery of projects along established parameters and guidelines

• Effectiveness of Improvement Changes made on Business Processes
