Advocated pain control post-operative through proper breathing, positioning and relaxation techniques. With these proper skills, the patient is using less pain medication and has a quicker healing process.
• Review medical record to gather information on past medical history, study the diagnosis of the different orthopedic deformations, and the repairs made during surgery.
• Facilitate mock code review for 75 to 100 Registered Nurses, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and lay persons, during skills day. To ensure knowledge and process of a properly executed code.
• Consult patients with any signs of Sleep Apnea or Snoring. Assess their signs and symptoms, allergen triggers and smoke exposure. Perform Pulmonary Function Study, gather medical information, daily medications, and instruct patient on Incentive Spirometry.
