Key duties and responsibilities:

Overhauling, inspecting, lapping, bluing and boxing up different types of valves according to Quality control plan and work packages.

Overhauling different types of flanges like flat face, male and female, tongue and groove, groove to flat and ring joint.

Identifying different types of gaskets and their applications, for instance metal gaskets like spril wound and metal jacket are used on high pressures and temperature of about 1093 degrees Celsius, Non-metallic gaskets like graphite, klinger, rubber, neoprene and cork are used in medium temperatures and pressure. Rubber insertion is ideal for cold water compressed air and acid.

Operating lapping machines like Vtec, climax, kemet and Larslap (models FL and G) to lap valve body seats and disks.

Working as quality controller i.e. filling check list, work package and quality control plan of different valves.

Using torque wrench, high torqueing machines and torque multiplier to tighten different types of bolts according to their strength, application, operating temperatures and pressure.

Performing inspection and refurbishment of the following valves: gate, controls i.e. fisher control valves, Semple globe, needle valves, NRVs, butterfly, Hopkinson, wedge valves and PSV pressure safety valves.

Inspecting and maintaining heat exchangers, moisture separators, filters; perform leak test on Valves as well as hydro test.
