JOB SUMMARY in EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT:

Administers, directs and coordinates activities of patient care to promote and restore patient’s health by completing the Nursing Process within Emergency Department (ED). Responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of Policies and Procedures, Patient Safety, Quality Assurance, environmental and Infection control in ED and direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Keeping the Nursing Supervisor and Unit head nurse informed of both progress and potential problems that may arise. Responsible for the care and maintenance of Hospitals equipment’s within the unit. Maintain operational aspects of nursing standards of ED in connection with Nursing Department Strategic Plan and in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary members providing physical and psychological support and patients families.

Cases Handled: Non-Surgical care services for Emergency and Critical patients of Pilgrims and Visitors of Al Haram Masjid:

Acute Coronary Syndrome, Bronchial Asthma, Chest Pain, DKA, Diabetes Mellitus, Pulmonary edema, Pulmonary Embolism, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Arrest, Hypertension, URTI, Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Gastritis, Diarrhea, Gastroenteritis, Constipation, Sprain, Fractures.

JOB DESCRIPTION in QUALITY DEPARTMENT:

Responsible for the knowledge, awareness and practice of the Hospital’s Patient Safety and Continuous Quality Improvement.

Responsible for coordination of the quality program within the hospital, as well as links to Ministry of health. This entails quality control, quality performance, quality assurance, quality improvement, and quality planning/education.

Utilize basic computer skills in data collection and in developing and filing reports.

Communicates appropriately and clearly to other hospital departments, medical providers, administration, co-workers, as well as patients and their families and visitors.

Supports and adheres to the facility compliance policies and employee behavior standards as directed by the director.

Supports the concept of positive customer relations and attitude toward all hospital staff, patients, and visitors throughout the facility at all times.

Supports the concept of continuous quality performance by participating as needed to design programs or systems and/or solve problems with a goal of improving.

Participates in in-services and staff development activities regarding Safety, in all departments.

Collects data for medical staff quality improvement and risk management activities. Attends medical staff meetings to facilitate Continues Quality Improvement/Safety activities.

Active in using and teaching others to use the Continues Quality Improvement process to improve hospital systems and operations.

Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., customer service, safety, compliance standards and all others.
