Duties and Responsibilities (as Infection Control senior coordinator)

Supervise infection control practitioners

Tools and Manuals:

oDevelop, review, and revise auditing and monitoring tools.

oAssists with the development and utilization of data collection methodologies used to identify solutions to infection prevention and control problems.

oParticipate in updating MSD-Infection Prevention and Control Manual in accordance with current local and international standards, guidelines, and regulations.

oAssist in development and review & update of MSD- surveillance manual according to local, regional, national and international standards.

oAssist in development and review & update of Infection Prevention and Control guidelines and recommendations.

Evaluation of Infection Prevention and Control programs:

oConduct monitoring and evaluations of local Infection Prevention and Control programs in MSD healthcare facilities.

oPrepare technical reports for each visit and make recommendations to improve the program.

oCommunicate with local programs to follow up implementation of recommendations.

Education and training:

oArrange and participate in educational activities conducted by the center like workshops, seminars, conferences etc.

oPrepare educational materials.

oParticipate in training of infection prevention and control staff in the center.

Consultation and technical support:

oProvide consultations and technical assistance for Infection Control Programs in MSD healthcare facilities.

oAct as expert consulting person to the MSD healthcare facilities.

oConduct consultation visits to MSD healthcare facilities as required.

oBe a member of MSD-IC network.

oParticipate in outbreak investigations as required.

oConsult with experts in Infectious Disease and clinical microbiology and other relevant departments in MSD healthcare facilities as required in an appropriately and timely manner to facilitate action and management of incidents including outbreaks

oTravel to MSD healthcare facilities for appointed task.

oLiaise and collaborate appropriately with all personnel in the center and MSD departments.

oMember of Rapid Response Team to intervene in any Infection Control issues in MSD healthcare facilities.

oParticipate in approved research studies and performance improvement projects as required

oAdhere to MSD, Ministry of Health (MOH) regulations and implement changes mandated by them and other authorities and agencies.

oMaintain professional competence by continuing education and participation in professional organizations.

oParticipates in short-and long-range planning for the center.
