The role of Helpdesk Analyst, for Xerox Business Solutions, includes providing installation and maintenance support for Multifunction Devices. These services included setting up SMB/FTP/SMTP network connections for scanning documents to intended destinations, installation of various print drivers, performing remote machine calibrations, create and assign profile roles with ActiveDirectory (when necessary) and provide limited router support (creating DHCP reservations and augment firewall services) via use of remote access software (Go to Assist and TeamViewer). Although this position was promoted as a student worker, the experiences were educational and relevant to my professional career. These duties included setup new computer systems, installation of commercial and proprietary software, setup of all-in-one imaging devices, creation of ActiveDirectory profiles and assignment of pre- developed permissions, input secure Wi-Fi settings for both students and faculty, setup MS Exchange mail settings on Windows and MacOS computers and mobile devices, manage student print service accounts, answer incoming service calls and reset network passwords via ActiveDirectory.

As an introduction to my future profession, Teletech – a call center vendor for Verizon Online internet services – afforded on the job trainable skills. After multiple promotions, the skills that I obtained included the setup of dial-up, ISDN, ADSL network connections, the limited configuration of Cisco, Netopia and Netgear routers, configuration of webhosting connections using Cute and WS FTP software, configured email services using Eudora Pro/Outlook and Outlook Express and resetting network passwords. Once service calls were completed, all call elements were documented using REMEDY Web services. Additional responsibilities included provided email technical support correspondence and lower level (Tier 1/Tier 2) helpdesk support assistance.
