Nutrition Consultant: Provide nutrition counseling to senior citizens in south central Alabama from MD referrals. Examples: Diabetics, weight management, Blood Pressure

Problems, etc. Visits are made to senior citizen gatherings mostly.

Health Services Inc-11/29/2006-9/2018 Retired

Directed the WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Supplemental Nutrition Program in three locations. Day-to-day monitored and supervised seven staff members. Provided direct nutrition counseling to parents, and maternity clients on proper nutrition, etc.

Taught Nutrition education classes to pregnant and post-partum women.

Tuskegee-Macon County Head Start Program-Tuskegee, AL 5/12/2001-11/20/2006

Nutrition Consultant for 6 sites. Food Services Supervisor of 12 cooks. Was Health Director during the last year (part-time). Provided in-service training to staff on general nutrition topics.

Nutrition Consultant- Sequel Youth and Family Services of Tuskegee- Tuskegee, AL

Monitor monthly menus, weight of teen meals, survey food intake quarterly. Follow-up on medical referrals: diabetes, overweight, poor weight, hypertension, etc.

Monitored and provided follow-up on dietary regimens. Supervised and advised on remodeling the kitchen. Calculated caloric intake and monitored weight of residents.

Phenix City Dialysis Clinic- Phenix City, AL—12/2001- 12/2002

Monitored and provided counseling on lab results to participants. Calculated caloric and other nutrients needed for maintenance on dialysis regimen. Provided classes on ways to lower calcium, phosphorus and other nutrients.

Clinic Coordinator: monitored the day to day operation of the third largest clinic in the state for this program. Supervised and provided counseling for families enrolled in the program. Provided nutrition education to clients and to the elderly population through referrals.

Publications: Co-Author of a curriculum entitled “Respect Yourself” a pregnancy prevention program with Medicaid Reimbursements that was utilized in County Health Departments throughout the State of Alabama, taught by Nurses and Social Workers. 1993-1998.
