ZIMBABWE POWER COMPANY, Hwange Power Station
The largest thermal power station in Zimbabwe with an installed capacity of 920 MW.
Mechanical Engineer Turbines (A) February 2021 - Current Providing specialist engineering advice and assistance; equipment performance and reliability analysis; plant optimization; developing systems to maximize plant availability; managing engineering projects; designing and implementing plant modifications; ensuring work is carried out to documented SHEQ systems and procedures.
Selected Accomplishment(s):
Improved Hwange Power Station’s Unit 5 and 6 availability by successfully installing and commissioning new stage 2 Turbine Cooling Water system
Oversaw unit 3 turbine dynamic tests and commissioning after major overhaul
Operations Engineer Turbines Jul 2019 – January 2021 Providing specialist engineering advice and assistance; equipment performance and reliability analysis; plant optimization; developed systems to maximize plant availability; managed engineering projects; designed and implemented plant modifications; ensured work is carried out to documented SHEQ systems and procedures.

Improved unit 1-4 onload availability by critical analysis of turbine and boiler trips coming up with solutions
