Key duties, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities include:
Ensure all H.S.E Legislative requirements of the different sites are adhered to, and implemented-OSH Act and MHS Act
Complete Contractors packs
Booking of Medicals and Inductions, as well as pre requisite trainings, and maintaining scheduled periodic medical bookings and refresher trainings
Ensure all OSH Act and MHS Act Legal appointments are done, explained and up to date.
Ensure mandatory agreements are entered into between the client and COMPANY.
Continuously conduct safety inspections on site and at workshop, to ensure all risks are mitigated, deviations addressed and actions implemented.
Ensure Sites and Workshops maintain an ‘Audit Ready’ state of compliance to Company and Governmental H.S.E Standards by conducting internal Audits
Compile Safety Files for all respective sites, and maintain on regular basis.
Compile Base-Line, Issue Base, and Daily Risk Assessments, Safe Working Procedures and Method Statements, and communicate to all relevant parties
Ensure Workshop emergency drills are implemented on regular basis. Monthly inspection on emergency equipment, for effective response to emergencies.
Perform first aid treatment and evaluate injured persons. Complete RMA report of the incident or accident and accompany the injured employee to hospital. Submit RMA forms for claim number and follow up reports.
Immediately action any incident or accident and conduct a thorough accident and incident investigation to establish Direct and Root causes. Communicate, Implement and drive remedial actions.
Compile monthly man hour and injury reports statistics, and display on Communication board.
Weekly and Monthly inspections on electrical tools, machines, premises structures and facilities, to ensure safe work environment
Prepare monthly safety meetings with management. Ensure that all deviations mentioned in the meeting are rectified and corrected.
