ACADEMIC PROJECTS
1. Performance Analysis of P&O and INC MPPT for WECS. Feb 2016-June 2016 Shri Dharmasthala Manjunateshwara College of Engineering and Technology Dharwad Karnataka Tools used: MATLAB/Simulink
• This project proposes a detailed model of PMSG based wind energy conversion system and multilevel inverter control scheme of a grid connected system including maximum power point tracker,
• The MPPT algorithm is used to extract maximum power from wind and deliver it to the inverter. Multilevel inverter is used to step up the voltage and to reduce the THD.
• The comparative study between two MPPT control algorithm techniques which are perturb and observe algorithm and incremental conductance algorithm.
• The MATLAB/SIMULINK result shows the power sharing between wind and the grid. Finally the best suited MPPT algorithm is suggested for the grid interface of wind energy conversion system.
2. Design and Simulation of Synchronous Buck Converter for Microprocessor Application Jain college of Engineering Belagavi Karnataka Feb 2014-June 2014 Tools used: MATLAB/Simulink
• The power requirements for the microprocessor have been increasing as per Moore's Law. According to International Technology Roadmap (ITRS), the Voltage Regulator Module
(VRM) for the microprocessor will be 96W (with 0.8V, 120A output), With the VRMs topology of synchronous buck.
• Multiphase Synchronous Buck topology to solve the technical challenges of powering future microprocessors.
