I was offered the opportunity to work for Old Mutual Franchise during my after hours, with the permission of my Discovery financial advisor assisting them with general admin duties as detailed below in the list of duties and responsibilities. My trustworthy and client confidentiality (Leadership) skills played a big role in this position as it required me not to divulge any information to either of the other parties’ i.e. Discovery and Old Mutual.
Assisting a panel of broker consultants with admin.
Responding to emails that the BC’s could not get too during the day to ensure broker relationship is maintained.
Submitting new business applications to the relevant department within Old Mutual.
Attaching new business requirements such as “missing pages” or clearer copies of pages to the system to ensure the new business process is not delayed.
Liaising with BSC (Broker service centre) to ensure status of cases are updated as and when new business requirements are attached to the system.
Following up on pending section 14 transfers (in) from the various providers such as Sanlam, momentum etc.
Assisting consultants with outstanding new business quotes for advisors (quotes that were not done during the day).
Dealing with nurse appointments for new Old Mutual clients and updating broker business reports daily and sending the reports to both broker and Business consultant (broker consultant).
Following up on all other outstanding queries that are not resolved yet i.e. bank detail updates, change of correspondence address, update of beneficiaries etc.
Following up on outstanding new business to ensure the SLA is met with requirements etc.
Following up with BC’s brokers on all quotes done within the week to potentially get new business submitted.
