PROJECTS

UNDER GRADUATE ACADEMIC PROJECT

Topic: Proposal of MEMU shed at Palakkad Junction Railway Station. Surveying, Drafting and designing of maintenance shed for MEMU train was the project. In the first phase surveying was done using dumpy level and manual earthwork calculations were done using those details. Second phase includes the drafting of plan, analysis and designing of various elements of structure with the help of software such as AutoCAD and STAAD Pro. The project was done under the guidance of Southern Railway.

POST GRADUATE ACADEMIC PROJECT

Topic: Studies on Fatigue Behavior of Piping Components under Cyclic Pressure. The fatigue life of an American petroleum industry specified, API-5L X46 grade steel pipe used by Hindustan Petroleum limited with a longitudinal internal semi-elliptical shaped crack was predicted by determining the fracture parameter named stress intensity factor using Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM) by ABAQUS and analytical equations. The project was done under the guidance of CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Center, Chennai.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

• Completed one month internship under the guidance of Jatan Construction Pvt. Ltd at Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Trivandrum.

• Completed one month internship at Structures India design company, Palakkad.

• Presented paper on the topic “Study on Fracture Analysis of Single Edge Cracked Specimen Using Extended Finite Element Method” at the National web conference on advances in civil engineering, organized by Eswari College of Engineering, Chennai.

• Attended MOOC course on “The Art of Structural Engineering: Bridges”.

• Attended advanced course on “Fatigue and Fracture Behavior of structures and Structural Components” workshop at CSIR-SERC, Chennai.

• Attended Tall Building Design workshop organized by Civil Simplified using ETABS 2015 and SAP 2000.
