Professional Summary
More about me as a person – passionate about “giving back”. To people and the earth.
Enjoys being outside, a keen gardener – Clivia breeding and enjoys mountain biking, hiking and camping.
With me there are no grey areas. What you see is what you get. Friendly, passionate about organic farming and the uplifting of people. A natural leader that is hardworking and loyal. Can take instructions well and execute them 100%. Important for me is to have the same vision as his employer
I am not looking for a job, I am looking for a long-term opportunity. I matriculated at Paarl Gym and studied Agricultural Science – Wellington. My granddad had a farm – that is where my love of farming and gardening comes from.
I am married, his wife is a lecturer at Somerset College – Subject Design. During and after studies I started the long road as Farm Assistant. My goal as a person was to learn as much as I can from successful farmers in order to gain a skillset and knowledge that I can apply in future. Worked at Oaklands Estate where my passion for organic farming was tickled. At Backsberg I enjoyed my position as Assistant Manager. After 3 years I was approached by Iris Ministries to work at an orphanage in Mozambique as General Maintenance Manager. I had to prepare the land and start planting from scratch. Invited to USA where I met delegates re future of farming science and future developments. Back in RSA I coached locals regarding the stuff I learned in the States. I then moved back into my passion of farming and worked as a Farm Manager at Lebombo Cape where Lettuce and Bell Peppers for Woolworths are grown. An opportunity opened at Vesuvio Estate – 6 months contract – which I took to learn more about olive farming. I enjoyed this position.
I learned and grow as much as I could in different positions and was approached by our Denny Mushrooms as an Assistant Technical Manager in 2017. I gained excellent experience and is comfortable in the compost making process.
