TRAINING AS “MILL WRIGHT MECHANIC”

Full Term apprenticeship:

-I have been trained as “Mill Wright Mechanic” in M/s Larsen and Toubro Ltd., Bangalore.

-M/s Larsen & Toubro, Bangalore Manufactures Earth moving equipments such as Excavators,

-Vibrating road rollers, Front end loaders, Etc.

-In this course of “Maintenance Mechanic”, I have been trained in all aspects of Industrial Mechanisum.

-Our training schedule was 1st year total theory training of Work Shop Technology, Calculation, Science and Engineering drawing, 2nd and 3rd year on the shop floor. Out of 6 days in a week 5 days full time (8hrs) practical and one day theory subjects. This type of Larsen and Toubro’s Training has given me tremendous knowledge in all aspects of engineering life.

-I was trained in maintenance section of hydraulic division. This division consisted of CNC Machines Such Hellar, Mazak, Cincinatic, Case Hardening, and conventional Machines Such as Radial drilling, Milling, Lathe, Boring, Gear Cutting, Gear Hobbling, Cylinder Barrel Honing, Surface Grinder, Cylindrical Grinder, Tool & Cutter Grinder, Pneumatically & Electrically Operated Pillar Hoists, Over Head Cranes, Hydraulic Test Benches, Hose plant (Cutting & Crimping), Plant Pneumatic System, Fork lifts and Automatic Tig Welding Machines, etc.

-I have been trained in different sections other than maintenance such as Machine shop, Hydraulic Equipment assembly & Testing Shop, Quality control, Heat treatment, Hose plant, Welding Section, Etc.

EXPERIENCES:

Lincoln Helios India Ltd, Bangalore: 56 Months

-I joined as “Trainee Service Technician” of Lincoln Helios Automatic Centralized Grease lubrication System (Single line, Dual line, Modular, Spray & Refilling system) and Oil Re-circulation System. These systems are erected in Cement plants (kiln, cement mill, coal mill, conveyors, etc), Steel plants (furnace, continuous caster, rolling mill, cooling bed, etc), Mining plants, Aluminum plants, etc.

-I became “Sr. Technical Assistant” in 4 years by attaining promotion in every year.

-During the above period, I have attained good knowledge in spare parts, as I was involved in preparation of list of recommended spares for Erection, Commissioning, 2 years and 5 years recommended spares for the complete system.

-Technical evaluation of spares and System Enquiries. I also had the responsibility to address the customer complaint and to solve the problems.

-To conduct the quarterly service contract program of the lubrication system in different plants through out India and to attend the break down calls.

-Erection of new application systems and to carry out the application engineering as and when required.

Saudi Iron and Steel Company (HADEED), KSA: 72 Months

-I worked as a Mechanical technician in Hydraulic section of Bar mill and Rod Mill.

-My responsibility was to carry out the preventive and break down maintenance of Hydraulic systems, Mill gear box lubrication system, Compressors, Pneumatic systems, Chillers, Water circulation systems, etc. To find out the route case for the breakdowns or the defects and eliminate the same.

-I have attained good knowledge of Rolling Mill Mechanical Maintenance in M/s Saudi Iron and Steel Co., K.S.A. in 6 Years of my service to that esteemed organization.

Emirates Iron and Steel Factory (EISF), Abu-Dhabi: 32 Months

-EISF is a newly commissioned steel rolling mill in Abu-Dhabi, owned by the Govt. of Abu-Dhabi.

-I am working as “Hydraulic and Compressed Air Technician” in “Emirates Iron & Steel Factory”, UAE. I have gained additional knowledge, as I was actively involved in Commissioning activity along with original equipment manufacturer from Germany, Italy, Holland and Korea and have lead the team of Universal Fitters for about 6 months.

-As I was found also excellent in all other mechanical activities and to change my grade management have changed my designation to mechanical technician.

Emirates Iron and Steel Factory (EISF), Abu-Dhabi: 20 Months

Serving as Sr. Mechanical Technician : Addressed plenty of plant commissioning problems, hence attained promotion with in 6 months. (Joined as technician).

Emirates Global Aluminium EGA (EMAL + DUBAL), Abu- Dhabi :15years

- Serving as Sr. Mechanical Technician Engineer of PTM (Pot tending Machine) since 10.8years.

- Erection and commissioning of the PTM.

- Preparing of maintenance schedule and Checklist.

- Ensuring the maintenance activities are done at the correct method.

Achievements:

-I could lead the team to overhaul the Gearbox of chopping shear.

-Prepared complete bill of materials (alone) to modify and to re-route the mill hydraulics, grease lubrication, compressed air and water systems to stain less steel. This project was executed during the last shut down in January 2003.

-Carried out plenty of modifications to avoid breakdown.

-Solved plenty of plant commissioning problems.

-Gained the confidence of the management as an excellent troubleshooter and problem solver.

-Gained experience in hydraulic system maintenance of special purpose cranes made by NOELL & ECL.

-Gained additional knowledge of Mechanical Maintenance, Equipment Monitoring and Trouble Shooting

-NEBOSH Course completed.

-Serving as Mechanical Maintenance Training Officer for the last 1 year
