DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Determines methods and procedures for establishing or re-establishing survey control stations.

Determine the precise location of important features in the survey area.

Performing record research, construction stakeout, and boundary, topographic, transportation and utility surveys utilizing total stations and data collectors.

Review information from survey teams regarding measurement of distances, directions, angles between points and elevation of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the earth’s surface.

Responsible for daily surveying duties in support of project and/or production.

Provide topographic layouts, cross-sectional surveys, and calculate quantities including earthworks (excavation, backfill, and stockpiles), water volumes and surface areas, construction layouts, drainage surveys, and road surveys in accordance with the Geomatics Department standards.

Providing high quality service to all clients and stakeholders of each project.

Train and mentor junior surveyors and technicians.

Ability to be flexible and collaborate, while maintaining high standards and quality work within a fast-paced environment.

Locate and stake pipelines.

Performing topographic surveys to determine volume quantities and performing as built surveys.

Calculating given elevations/measurements from drawings and perform layout.

Keeping accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
