Support the delivery and development of asset management plan
Provide input into significant investment on the national grid
Assist in the development of standards and sustainable work plans.
Identifying the future needs of the National Grid over the long term both from planned or potential investment in generation and growth and change in electricity demand
Develop transmission solutions that are economically efficient to meet these needs while ensuring the grid continues to meet required reliability standards
Obtain approval for proposed grid investments and for large projects.
Within Grid Development the Asset Planning Team delivers an economically justified asset management plan that delivers capability at the right time whilst ensuring the most economic investments are made considering the whole of life costs for grid assets.
Working as part of smart collaborative team contribute to the development and integration of asset management plans for both Capex and Opex and support the implementation of the asset management strategy tasks such as, but not limited to;
Making forecasts and predictions using models and tools by historical data.
Overseeing asset condition assessment and undertaking lifecycle modelling.
Support the development, review and calibration of asset health models
Assessing relevant external products and technologies and their likely impacts.
Life costing principles to help build business cases for the replacement and refurbishment of assets using sound cost / risk / benefit analysis and the appropriate tools to support this decision making. Provide advice and reporting to a range of varied stakeholders and input into capital and operational works plans for business planning and Regulatory Control Period justification.
