Assisting public with all types of queries, personally and telephonically. It was here where I was appointed as a Senior Tax Clerk and was left in charge of the counter, which had approximately 10 staff members. Occasionally I had to help members of the public with their individual tax returns. In this position I had to evaluate all the staff at the counter. A broad knowledge of all areas of the Revenue service is needed for this department.

After holding that position (STC) at the counter for 8 months, I asked for a transfer to further my knowledge in the company. I was taken to the Tracing Department where I was responsible for collecting outstanding tax returns, by any 3 of 3

and all means possible, and if no returns received by the company or individual, then I was responsible for summonsing that company or individual. While in this department, I was responsible for the attendance register, monthly production sheets and overseeing the paperwork for accuracy and completeness. From April 2002 to 31 March 2003, I worked on a Project, which entailed counting arrear returns. I worked closely with the Manager Mrs Mostert, where I counted Route lists (returns received) on a daily basis, getting figures of outstanding arrear returns which was placed every week by me on a Template (worksheet) which was send to our Head Office. I helped my manager with a lot of different tasks, such as Asset register updates, arranging staff meetings for various staff groups, maintaining and updating the attendance registers for 24 people.

From May 14th 2003, I was appointed as an acting team leader who managed 11 people. I was tasked to ensure that all the tasks mentioned above were carried out by the people under me. At the beginning of February 2004 I went back to the Tracing Department.

From June 2004 I have been in the Prosecutions Department where I check and type summons cases for the court. We used Microsoft Excel. Accuracy is very important in this department for obvious reasons. I also issued Clearance Certificates to clients to hand in at court and pay admission of guilt. I did go to court on a weekly basis to observe the court proceedings with the SARS cases and assisted clients when needed. 1990 - 1993 Floor assistant, Service Centre Operator Edgars
