Cloning of prenyl transferase, a putative key gene in resin biosynthesis of the indian lac insect, kerria lacca (kerr).
The project was the dissertation project for Bachelor’s degree. The attempt was made to identify and clone an important gene involved in the biosynthesis of lac resin. Process optimization for cellulase production from a thermophilic isolate of hot spring The project was the dissertation project for Master’s degree. The study was focused on a thermophilic bacterial strain with thermostable cellulose producing capacity. The research was purely based on the optimization of parameters required for high production of cellulase enzyme.
