Going to the families homes to do visits, clarifying the needs of the family members. Finding utility assistance, helping with budgeting, scheduling counseling appointments, tracking health requirements of the children and dental tracking follow ups. Scheduling monthly Parent Meetings within the school building, teaching Conscious Discipline as a way to parent successfully to the families with students in Perry County Head Start program. Sending out a monthly newsletter and calendar of events that I schedule. I also am responsible for enrolling each of the 36 students in the building each year, taking applications for new children, and attending Council of Agencies meetings six times a year to network within the community.

This credential required me to attain 110 hours of interactive training, develop a portfolio demonstrating my competency, and pass a standardized exam awarded by Cornell University in New York state.

Child Development Associate credential
This credential required me to complete 120 hours of training in specific child and family subject areas. I also had 480 hours of time in the classroom, and completed a professional portfolio that demonstrated my competency. I was assessed on site by a council representative, and passed a standardized exam.
1997-2000
Certified Medication Aide
I worked at a residential facility for adults with disabilities and passed their medications. I also worked at a Nursing facility passing medications and monitoring health conditions such as diabetic finger sticks and giving the appropriate amount of Insulin injection.
