Blending Control Foreman
•Ensure blends are made into the right kettles and also confirm that the manifold connections, base oil withdrawals and additives pumped into the kettle are accurate and done rightly to avoid any form of contamination during the blending process.
•Ensure that dipping measurements are taken from each tank that was withdrawn from for accountability of every raw material (base oils and additives) used for each blend.
•Monitor the decanting of additives using the drum decanting system (DDS).
•Ensure the correct sampling of blends and also follow up with the laboratory on the test results.
•Ensure that product lines are pigged after operations to avoid any form of spill from the manifold and also to avoid contaminations of any sort.
•Ensure the compliance with all relevant Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) regulations.
•Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained in the plant regularly especially in the area of operation and also maintain a strict adherence to SSH&E protocols at all times.
•Prepare the bulk material withdrawal data sheet and additive decanting sheet per blend.
•Prepare periodic reports for the plant and organize regular meetings on quality, SSH&E and production.
•Ensure strict adherence to the company’s KPI.
•Ensure a "first time blend right” protocol on blends.
•Ensure that the filling lines (12 1 line, 4 4 line and Drum line) gets the required product to fill according to schedule.
•Ensure that the weekly and monthly blend objectives are met according to company plan.
•Ensure proper use of slop generated by utilization and recycling.
•Take part in monthly inventory cycle count and reconciliation.
•Conduct and participate in daily safety meetings.
•Ensure proper shut down and start up of equipments (critical and non critical) particular to daily operations.
•Ensure that base oils and additives are kept at the right temperature in their various storage tanks prior to withdrawal for a blending operation.
•Monitor the temperature of all holding tanks.
•Ensure proper documentation of all operations and processes carried out on daily basis
•Carry out preventive/corrective maintenance on mechanically functional equipments when need be by carrying out root cause analysis and using the 5why method and escalate to the maintenance department as necessary.
•Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repairs of equipments within departmental operations such as flow/mass meters (installation and calibration), hydraulic systems, pumps etc.
