Dear Sir or Ma’am:
I have been working in the advertising industry for twenty-five years and have enjoyed it immensely. Even while the industry is at a very exciting time as online advertising, OTT, social media and multi-platform advertising advance even further, I am looking for a new challenge; it’s time for a new adventure with a family-focused company with a good work- life balance. I have been on the sales end of the industry combining radio, television, & digital campaigns (including Facebook, OTT and e-mail newsletters) but I have done far more than just sell; I work daily on the clerical side. I’ve worked with copywriting, production of commercials, Facebook posts, proofreading, invoice reconciliation, budget spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and collections. In media, I think you have to be a jack of all trades. I’ve also been working for the last 16 months remotely. On a daily basis, I work closely with local & regional advertising agencies on client campaigns with demanding deadlines; I put several of their entire market buys together for them – not just my station. Confidentiality is a must. Fortunately, over the years, I’ve gained my clients’ trust enough that they ask for my opinion and help; by doing more than is required, you always overdeliver for your clients. You can’t go wrong with that! I also believe learning the other parts of the business makes a great, well-rounded employee and also makes it easier for the client to deal with one person; I learned new skills and fine tuned the skills I already had. It’s also easier to help solve problems when you understand the difficulties of the other departments.
I am a very detail-oriented, self-starter with great math skills; I am very much a numbers person. My attention to detail earned me the title “spreadsheet queen” because I like to keep things organized. I also have been 100% commission paid for 25 years where I was paid on collections; firmly asking for money without being rude is quite a fine line. So being 100% commission, you have to work hard, have good time management and self- discipline. Since I work with so many clients’ budgets, the information they trust me with is very confidential. I believe my attention to detail, hard-work ethic and determination is what sets me apart. Thank you very much for your time and opportunity; I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Stacy Woelber
