WORK EXPERIENCE
Social Media Manager & Content Creator
2018 - Present
I am a part of a dance group called Xtract, where I serve as both a member of the leadership body and as a dancer. During my time with Xtract I have successfully executed my roles within the group by growing the group’s social media platforms reaching our niche audience with Trinidad and Tobago. In this role I have learnt a grandiose pool of knowledge in marketing, graphic design, social media management as well as interpersonal communication through working with a group of people to achieve our goals.
House Vice-Captain at St. Joseph’s Convent, P.O.S.
September 2018 – June 2019
I was graciously honoured with the role of serving as House Vice-Captain at my secondary school. During my time as House Vice-Captain I got the unique chance to exercise my leadership skills as well as interpersonal communication skills by delegating younger students within the House, working with fellow Captains, and working together with teachers and staff to properly execute my duties.
Library Prefect (2015-2018), Library Captain (2018-2019)
As a library prefect/captain I worked as assistance to the library staff and librarian at my school’s library. There I spent every evening doing anything from aiding fellow students with checking in/out books, shelving books, edging books, as well as spending time with them during my July/August vacations to prepare the library for upcoming school years.
Member of UNESCO Club
During my time in secondary school I spent a total of three years as a member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation club. In this club members are exposed to varying pressing world issues such as the political crisis in Myanmar, issues surrounding poverty and the disabled, etc.
Global Goals Model United Nations Conference
April 2021
This year I took the chance to participate in the Global Goals Model UN conference which gave me the opportunity to meet and interact with young people all around the world discussing the United Nations’ seventeen sustainable development goals. In this experience I learned to step out of my comfort zone and have meaningful discussions.
