The Acting Chief Accountant is responsible to prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. He/she is also responsible to offers suggestions to General Manager about resource utilization, investments, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Managerial/Supervisory Duties
1.Plan and assign the work of Unit staff
2.Create a work environment that minimizes turnover and maximizes retention within the Unit
3.Supervise the daily activities of the Accounting Unit and ensure that all policies and procedures are abided by
4.Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Accounting team against preset goals
5.Prioritize tasks and activities for the Accounting team, review and motivate performance
6.Manage arising challenges facing the Accounting staff
7.In coordination with the General Manager, allocate Accounting staff according to changing needs.

8.Review and approve all accounting transactions prior to posting them to the General Ledger
9.Approve the classification and processing of revenue, expenditure, and other financial transactions and documents, salary updates, ledger and account maintenance and data entry; ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, while maintaining appropriate internal control safeguards
10.Make any necessary adjustment to the chart of accounts
11.Supervise and approve the necessary adjustments to the payroll lists, payment slips, and related taxes
12.Review and make necessary adjustments to tax files
13.Prepare suppliers and third party checks
14.Verify funds transfer from clients
15.Administer the cash flow including eligibility, payment, and record keeping processes
16.Communicate with banks, clients, suppliers and other stakeholders when needed and as instructed by the General Manager
17.Prepare periodic accounting reports, financial statements and budget reports
18.Develop projections and analysis with recommendations and conclusions for management
19.Analyze fiscal and budget systems for control availability and adherence to policies and procedures
20.Ensure records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing and accounting standards and principles
21.Advise business units on improvement of current fiscal procedures; implementation of new fiscal policies and training of accounting personnel
